The Issue

Monkeys Island is a National Wildlife Refuge off the west coast of the Outer Banks.and every year it gets smaller it is a eroding away and more bird nest every year are getting abandoned And more baby birds are dying.but with your help we can do something about it if we put a bulkhead around monkeys Island we can slow down the erosion process  giving monkeys Island at least 50 more years.there are also many endangered bird species that Nest there such as the Black-crowned Night-Heron and the great egret.as there population is already low and with one of there main nesting grounds gone there population will get even lower than it already is.and not to mention all the historic value the Island has the pu munkey Indians used it as a hunting ground before the European settlers came and took it over eventually using it as a hunt club for them self's then closing its doors in 1974 then the wild life center bought it and turned it into the wildlife refuge it is today all of that just washed away would you want this amazing Island gone I know I wouldn't so just remember you could easily save this Island.
