Why this petition matters

To All CMs, State Education Ministers, Board Chairman/Heads, PMO, Union Education Minister

Respected All,

Based on feedback from hundreds of Parents/Students, I am initiating this petition requesting you to take suo-moto cognizance.

Prayers:

1. Reduce Syllabus: Some states/boards like Haryana & SEBA-Assam have already reduced syllabus to 70%. We all understand the challenges faced during online classes(learning). Books unavailable esp NIOS students, rural & upcountry towns.

2. Replan/Better Plan Exams: Exams shouldn't clash with other competitive/enterance exams and due time should be given for preparation. There should also be uniformity in time. For ex. some state board exams are starting in 1st/2nd week of Mar, 22 whereas CBSE tentatively will start from 26th Apr,22. Result should be declared in time bound manner so that students don't miss upon taking admission for higher studies(in India & abroad), jobs

3. Restructure Fee: Schools/colleges have saved on electricity, lab, library & sports charges, their infrastructure remained unused from last 20 months hence saving on costs. Hostel, canteen facilities were not at all used.As per estimates institutions have saved from 30-50%. Hence fee should be restructed as per online classes/learning.

4. Refine/Re-visit: Assessment Methodology: We need to look at alternative assessment modes instead of insisting students for 3 hour offline exams mode with subjective questions. Options like MCQ, Internal Assessment, Open Book Exams can be explored. This mode should be uniform so that other students shouldn't feel discrimination. For ex. CBSE regular students appeared for 50% syllabus on MCQ methodology hence same should be considered for private, state board and NIOS students

5. Reach Out to Students : We understand that life must go on however students have taken online classes for 2 years. They have gone through behavioural changes. They need to have writing practice too. Exams have their own anxieties. Hence migration to offline learning should be done with due diligence, supervision and proper counselling. Students must not be pushed for offline exams. We need to take care of mental health of students too.

Above are the main prayers. Parents/students may mention additional concerns/suggestions in comments section.

We urge the competent authorities to look into the above prayers on urgent basis. We will be highly obliged.

With Warm Regards
