USE VARIANCE PETITION IN FAVOR OF UNTOLD GALLERY

The Issue

Jered Peters, doing business as Untold Gallery, and his landlords are requesting a Use Variance from the City of Portage at 2626 McCool Road. To prevent Unnecessary Hardship for the use of the property belonging to the landlords, and their ability to use the land and building outside of the IS Institutional zoning ordinance, we ask that you show your support to both the owners and Jered Peters so he can continue his business operations as successfully, thoughtfully, and with full care for his community and it’s residents, as he has in Portage, IN over the last 5 years. The building was a church in its original use, but has since been used for a steakhouse restaurant, photography studio, and flower shop, since the owners acquired the building in the early 1990s. Jered Peters is an institution in the tattooing industry and a leader in his field, having been a licensed tattooer for nearly 20 years in Northwest Indiana. He is a proud resident of Portage, IN and has given back to his community in countless ways, and if you know him, you’ll likely know why he is such a great asset to our town. We ask that you support our appeal to the Board of Zoning Appeals by signing this petition, and we hope for the opportunity to serve you again in the very near future.
