LAU Residents issues

The Issue

Hello everyone. The residents' council met this week, and all chiefs raised similar concerns about the bad attitude of the hospital, administration, and especially the infectious control towards the residents. We believe we are not being treated the way we should, although we are a fundamental part of the running engine if not the most important. Below are some important points we want to raise:
1- After the blast, many residents lost their homes, dorm, cars, and even got hurt. No one bothered to ask if anybody needed help
2- The cafeteria stopped hot meals for COVID issues. The days following the explosion no one bothered to provide us with food but we as residents council managed to get our own food donations. Hot meals are still on hold and no clear response from administration when it will be resumed.
3- After the explosion as well, there was a plan and a set schedule to do PCR to all residents. However, infectious control didn't abide by the schedule and eventually, PCRs got canceled as it was too late.
4- The reaction of the Infectious control in response to a potentially positive resident has been disgraceful. The infectious control team was disrespectful on several occasion to many residents. Not to forget the discrepancy in decision making regarding quarantine for residents between the infectious control heads leaving us residents in the middle of the chaos with no clear decision.
5- Finally, with the ongoing economic collapse, no light has been shed on the matter of our salaries by the administration.
Basically, guys what we are asking is the basic requirements we merit: respect, recognition, food, and health. If you all agree with the following points please sign this petition so we can send an official email to the administration on behalf of all residents and push for a change.
We are trying to change a country, but first, let us start to advocate for change in our own institution.
