By signing this petition, you are requesting a change to section 6.1 of the farm stand legislation to support the use of agricultural land for community outreach programs, workshops that educate communities on how to grow their own organic foods, awareness in reduction of waste, composting, planet sustainability, and food preparation from the land by using a minimum of 33% of the agricultural land for crops not limited to how its grown.

The change would allow crops to be grown in pots, via hydroponics, or in the ground. Produce sold at farm stands could be derived from crops grown by other farms in Miami-Dade County. Farm stands should be allowed a higher amount of parking spaces, enough to satisfy our county's zoning trends, land size, and daily visitors.

We request an amendment to the legislation for farm agricultural land to allow farm animal rescue under a non-profit organization with the purpose of allowing community visits and educational programs creating awareness on climate change and impact of animal agriculture on our planet.
