Executive Order 2020-030 requires facial coverings on any person living, working, visiting, or doing business in Seminole County, effective July 1, 2020. This order applies to any indoor public location, including places of assembly.
This mandate is unfair and unacceptable to enforce for the following reasons:

1) COVID-19 testing has been grossly inaccurate with false-positive and false-negative results for thousands of Floridians. It is not acceptable to enforce this order without accurate data and statistics relating to COVID-19.

2) The COVID-19 recovery rate is over 99%, however Seminole County is withholding this information from their citizens by only reporting positive cases and deaths. The current death toll is .0004% in Seminole County, indicating that COVID-19 is not a serious health threat to the vast majority of our population, and poses less risk than the seasonal flu.

3) There is no scientific evidence that facial coverings help slow the spread of COVID-19. In fact, mask manufacturers are disclosing on their products that the mask will not prevent or protect against COVID-19. There have been numerous articles & studies published recently that indicate wearing a mask decreases oxygen levels and can be potentially harmful to the mask wearer. It is unacceptable and unconstitutional to mandate these masks; they are not proven to be effective for their purpose and they pose additional health risks to our community & citizens.

Seminole County must abolish this Executive Order immediately to restore the People’s right to choose if they should wear a face mask in public or not. In the United States of America, every citizen deserves the right to make healthcare decisions independently for themselves and their families without government interference.

Our small business community has been severely impacted throughout the last several months due to COVID-19; many retailers and restaurants have been forced to permanently close due to government & public health orders. This mandate will cause further damage, financial hardships, and emotional/mental stress on our community. We must restore freedom & our rights by overturning this order as soon as possible.
