The undersigned residents/property owners of Quitman, Mississippi, hereby petition the Board of Aldermen to: cease and desist from the intrusive, unconstitutional, invasion of privacy by City inspectors; to pass an ordinance which prohibits said invasion of privacy, prohibiting taking photographs of private occupied homes, yards, lawns, and/or residence without prior written consent; to prohibit unwarranted inspection, trespass, photography, micromanagement, and/or other invasion of privacy by City employees and/or contractors; and to require by law that City inspectors must identify themselves by showing of picture identification, presenting a business card, making an office appointment, wearing a uniform, wearing a mask, and showing proof of vaccination against Covid-19, that this be required by law for the protection of health, welfare, and life of home owners, residents, and their families.
