Blue Valley Northwest: Stop the school from taking down the students wall murals!

This petition made change with 543 supporters!

As you may have heard, there has been a recent announcement at BVNW regarding the student wall murals designed around the school during Painting I & II. Starting est. January 2014, the school has decided to paint over all the vivid, unique, creative student artwork that decorates the halls and will supposedly be replaced with "husky life" photographs, and possibly portable alternative artwork created by students.

A majority of the student body at Northwest believes that this is unacceptable. We as a school take much pride of our intelligent, creative, and innovative capabilities that we believe sets us apart from our competing schools; these wall murals are no exception.

We believe if we can bring enough publicity to this topic and prove just how many students, family, neighbors, and alumni are outraged by this decision, that we may be able to persuade our administration to change their minds, and hopefully keep our artwork on the walls of our school.

This is a reminder that this petition serves no purpose other than simply raising awareness of the issue. I have zero intention of using this as an "attack" on the school, administrators, or anybody else involved. I personally apologize for any confusion regarding this. This act as of right now has no exact start date, although it has been told by several that the intention for it all was to start soon. While the school made the point that this was not a project that they would complete overnight, this does not change the fact which remains to be that they _still_ want to go through with eventually taking down the murals. My goal is to preserve as much of our students' current artwork as possible.
