This petition is to demand the resignation of Blount County Commissioner Dean Calvert due to his reprehensible comments on a recorded phone conversation that has widely been shared on social media. 

Commissioner Calvert's use of racial slurs, direct use of such language in reference to a citizen of this County, despicable language in discussion of women, as well as his behavior at the County Commission meeting on 9/14/2020 are all demonstrations of conduct that are unacceptable for a public official. 

Furthermore, his conduct has jeopardized contracts and revenue streams for the county, and it is only the right thing to do at this point for him to resign for the best interests of the citizens of Blount County, AL.
