Block Vehicle Access to Grass Area off Eaglesfield Road

Block Vehicle Access to Grass Area off Eaglesfield Road
The Issue
Living in Hartlepool, in the vicinity of Eaglesfield Road, I am deeply frustrated by the persistent issue of fly-tipping and the fires being set on the grass area nearby. This space now suffers from heaps of waste being dumped illegally. Each passing day, the menace grows, posing severe safety and hygiene concerns for all of us living here.
The grass area holds so much potential; it could transform into a serene spot for relaxation and community activities if only it weren’t littered with broken glass and hazardous debris. Unsightly and hazardous, the rubbish and fires tarnish the landscape and diminish the quality of life for residents who are left to deal with this blight.
Yet, the solution is quite concrete and straightforward: block vehicle access to the grass area off Eaglesfield Road. By doing this, we can effectively deter those who repeatedly desecrate this space with garbage and risk-causing fires. Vehicles make it convenient for fly tippers to unload waste and make quick getaways. Eliminating vehicle access will send a strong message that this community will not tolerate such behaviour, leading to a decline in fly tipping and an eventual reclaiming of our community space.
Statistics have shown that communities that take action see a decrease in such illicit activities. According to Keep Britain Tidy, areas that are watched and controlled experience a reduction in illegal dumping and vandalism by as much as 68%. We must protect our neighbourhood from becoming a dumping ground and restore its former beauty.
Prioritizing this initiative will not only improve the visual appeal of our area but will also help maintain a safer and cleaner environment for present and future generations. It is imperative that we act now and urge relevant authorities to enforce a blockade on vehicles accessing this vulnerable spot.
Please support this petition and help us take back our community space. Together, we can foster a safer, cleaner, and more beautiful Hartlepool. Sign now to make a change!
