Fyre Festival 2 has already been “postponed”—but it should be permanently shut down.

The event was being organized by convicted scammer Billy McFarland, who served prison time for the catastrophic 2017 Fyre Festival. That first disaster left concertgoers stranded in the Bahamas, locals unpaid, and the environment damaged. Now, McFarland is attempting a reboot in Mexico—charging $1,400+ for an event that never secured permits and was publicly denied by local officials.

Mexican authorities have confirmed that Fyre Fest 2 was never approved, and no permits were filed for the location McFarland claimed. Still, the event was advertised and tickets were sold to unsuspecting buyers, echoing the exact tactics that led to his original conviction.

We cannot let history repeat itself. This isn’t just about shady ticket sales—it’s about public safety, environmental preservation, and holding bad actors accountable.

We’re calling on officials in Mexico and U.S. tourism regulators to take action to block any future attempt to revive Fyre Fest 2 and protect the public from being misled.
