Protect our Community! Stop Murderer's Early Parole! Parole Hearing October 29, 2019

The Issue

48 year old Redlands man who confessed to killing his ex-girlfriend will spend at least 15 years to life in state prison.  San Bernardino Superior Judge Arthur Harrison sentenced Gilberto Hernandez to 15 years to life for the murder of 52 year old Maureen "Marcey" Ramirez, who was a United States Postmaster.
Hernandez was charged with burglary and murder following his October 11, 2006 arrest at Ramirez's home on Orange
Avenue.  San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies said Hernandez broke in the back door of the house, struck Ramirez in the head with a chair, choked her, smothered her with a pillow and said he was at peace with himself when she took her last breath. Investigators said Hernandez called a friend and several family members, telling each one of them he had killed Ramirez.  He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder - a charge that carries a 15-years-to-life prison sentence compared to 25 ears for first-degree murder. He will be paroled in 15 years.
Kassel his attorney said, "He reacted in a fit of rage and heat-of-passion offense."

He has no respect for human life. He is a danger to our community and society.
