A man who encouraged a violent mob to “Kill ’em!” as they attacked police officers defending the U.S. Capitol should not be advising our Justice Department. But that’s exactly what’s happening.

Jared L. Wise, a former FBI agent charged for his role in the January 6th insurrection, has been quietly appointed as an adviser to the Justice Department’s “Weaponization Working Group”—a task force reportedly designed to target those who held Capitol rioters accountable.

Wise didn’t just attend the Capitol riot. He shouted violent commands, berated law enforcement as “Nazis,” and celebrated as rioters breached the building. His charges were only dropped after President Trump issued a sweeping pardon on his first day back in office—while Wise’s trial was still underway.

Now this same man is helping shape federal policy. That’s not justice. That’s a warning sign.

We call on Attorney General Pam Bondi and leaders in Congress to immediately remove Jared Wise from any advisory role in the Department of Justice. Americans deserve a justice system led by people who respect the rule of law—not those who tried to tear it down.

If we stay silent, we normalize insurrection. Stand up for democracy. Demand Wise be removed—before it's too late.
