BLM Tyler Demands Nancy Nichols Immediate Resignation

BLACK LIVES MATTER TYLER DEMANDS
NANCY NICHOLS IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION >>
Earlier this month while on a zoom conference call with TX Democratic Party Chairpersons, Nancy Nichols, representing Senate District 1 (including the large counties of Smith Co & Gregg Co), objectified & denigrated the Black people of North Tyler by calling the community, "The Chocolate Side of Town."
A few Democratic officials on the Zoom Call immediately made known their strong disapproval of Mrs. Nichols slur. At that time, Mrs. Nichols offered an apology of sorts then attempted to rationalize her marginalization of Black people by encouraging conference participants to watch Dr Cornell West's Master Class on Black History wherein Dr West uses the term "Chocolate."
A few days later, the incident became public then Black Lives Matter activists, including video blogger Delia Gray, began to demand Mrs. Nichols apology & resignation as a Democratic Party official.
Mrs. Nichols refused to publicly apologize.
In support of the public outcry over Mrs. Nichols comment and actions over the past few years, a fellow State Democratic Executive Committee official wrote Ms. Delia Gray, "Your request for a PUBLIC APOLOGY is warranted. Our goal as a party should be to stop infighting and work together for the common good. People are hurting; they need jobs, healthcare and education. The intraparty struggle in Smith County is not productive or helpful to any of that. Name-calling and fighting each other does not help those that need help the most."
The official was referring to Mrs. Nichols very public and heated campaign against the first Black Chair of the Smith Co Democratic Party, a campaign which included collaborating with a Trump activist falsely charging the chair of videotaping underage girls at a Starbucks (a wildly false charge which could have led to an arrest or racial violence).
The SDEC official further commented, "Mrs. Delia, I don’t think you need a lesson in black history. The Smith County Party needs the ability to move on. It’s gone on way too long. (Nancy's) comments do not reflect the SDEC or the Texas Democratic Party. We elected officers need to do what we were elected to do. Help people. That’s it."
Demand Nancy Nichols immediate resignation! Help end the multi-year campaign of manipulation, divisiveness, & lies.
