World of Warcraft Memorial for My Deceased Father

The Issue

Hey, I'm Megan and I am 23 years old, and I've been playing World of Warcraft since I was 10. My father, introduced me to it, he taught me how to play and it was something we bonded over daily. I played a gnome warlock, of course I spent most of my time wandering around Redridge Mountains, because, well I was 10 and didn't understand my abilities totally. My dad, for the majority of the 16 years I had with him, was sick. He was in and out of the hospital constantly. He had many close calls, and doctors telling us he was going to pass several nights. He always kept his head up though. He fought through it even when it was bleak. We knew we wouldn't have forever with him, and so that made every moment count that much more. He was an amazing father. He was on a feeding tube and still made dinner for us every single night. He always managed to make us laugh and be the shoulder to cry on even when he was in pain. He loved his cooking shows, which was ironic given that he couldn't eat. His life wasn't easy, he lost his sister, our aunt, to cancer years before he died of the same. He lost his mother as well before he died. We always tried to make the best of our situation, and his though. For the longest time, He played World of Warcraft, and the friends he made, his paladin and many achievements, it helped him through all of his hospital stays and close-calls. I lost him at 16 years old in 2013, and that night, I was playing WoW with him right next to me. He was barely conscious but I swear he was smiling at my accomplishments that I was showing him. Bounce back a couple years before, he was in the hospital in a coma. My mom was visiting him, and he woke up. My mom said I love you and he was barely there, but as soon as she said "I'm gonna go home and steal all your WoW gold" He perked up and gave her a smile and shook his head. I still play WoW to this day, as I feel some sort of connection or bond to him through it. He was my best friend. He did so much for everyone else around him and was never selfish no matter how much pain he was in. He never gave up. He provided for us no matter how difficult it was for him. He wanted us girls to have it all. He was the kindest and most selfless person I have ever known. He hid his cancer up until the very end so we wouldn't be in pain and he could spend his last days making the best memories. He took us to amusement parks and camping. He made us the BEST dinners. He passed pretty quickly in late October. 22 days after my birthday.

I spend most of my days playing WoW, and streaming. I'm disabled, and I can't work or drive. I have a severe form of epilepsy but I try not to let it get in the way of how I want to live. I wanted to do something in memorial of him. We still haven't gotten a gravestone for him because we don't have the money for it. We don't have the means to make a memorial for him, but my hope would be that there would be a way, we could engrave a gravestone inside of WoW with his name or an NPC of some sort. Obviously this is for very special cases, and Blizzard doesn't do this sort of thing always, but I thought it was worth a try. I completely understand that this is a HUGE request, but I just wanted something I could visit daily, that would bring some peace. It's been 7 years and I just want something done in his memory. He deserves it. His name was Roy John Alford. He died October 28th, 2013.

I would like to petition for Blizzard Entertainment to create a memorial in game for my father. An NPC, an engraved gravestone, anything to remember him by. He was an amazing selfless man, and loved by everyone around him.

Best wishes, Megan.
