End rough sleeping this winter in Blackpool
The Issue
Homelessness is a growing problem in our town and country. No one should be on the streets this winter, especially with Covid-19 cases rising.
In March, councils and charities saved hundreds of lives by bringing rough sleepers in off the street. But the number of people sleeping rough has risen again.
We have a number of fantastic charities and organisations in Blackpool, who work day in day out to help those in our streets but this can’t be the solution.
I’m calling on our two Blackpool MPs and their Government to urgently protect homeless people from a cold, dangerous winter by restarting Everyone-In and give Blackpool Council the full financial support they need to do it.
Everyone deserves a safe place to stay this winter, and with compassion and the right leadership, we can end rough sleeping for good.
