The Issue

Did you know Black River Falls has 49 registered sex offenders—and no laws to regulate them? That’s 1 for every 71 people. Unlike surrounding towns that have taken action to protect their residents, this city has NO ordinance in place to regulate where sex offenders can live, work, or loiter.

🚨 NO residency restrictions near schools, daycares, or parks
🚨 NO buffer zones to keep offenders away from playgrounds or public spaces
🚨 NO protections to ensure community safety

Other Wisconsin towns have taken action—why is Black River Falls failing its residents? Without regulations, nothing prevents a convicted sex offender from living right next door to a school, a daycare, or even your home.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, 5.3% of sex offenders are re-arrested within 3 years—and that’s just the ones who get caught. Why should you gamble with your children’s safety? With the right ordinance in place, we can deter risks and create a safer environment for everyone.

As residents, we have a responsibility to demand action. Safety should never be optional.

We, the undersigned, demand that the Black River Falls City Council act NOW to establish a sex offender ordinance that aligns with those in neighboring communities. We refuse to wait until something tragic happens. The time to act is NOW.

🔴 Sign this petition today and make your voice heard! Let’s hold city officials accountable for protecting Black River Falls and its most vulnerable residents.
