Make Black Entertainment Television Apologize To B. Scott On Air
The Issue
Black Entertainment Television has become a staple in communities of Color. For years, the quality of their content has been destructive and divisive to our community. However, the recent treatment of B. Scott, an Gay Androgynous media personality is unacceptable. In Mr. Scott's own word's Black Entertainment Television "BET forced me to pull my hair back, asked me to take off my makeup, made me changed my clothes and prevented me from wearing a heel. It’s more so that from the mentality and environment created by BET made me feel less than and that something was wrong with who I am as a person." This is not okay. It is unacceptable in a time where Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Individuals are fighting tirelessly for equality. Where LGBTQI youth are committing suicide in droves because they are not affirmed by mass media. An apology is in order and a boycott will begin.
