Belgaum is a land of freedom fighters, educationalists, visionaries, entrepreneurs. It is the land where freedom movement took place. Belgaum has no dearth of leadership and talent among youngsters. We can't accept the fact that there are discussions happening about Loksabha byelection ticket from BJP being given to leaders of Chikkodi and Hubli. It really hurts the sentiments of Belgaumites. Also this time people of Belgaum are demanding a new, young and dynamic  leader to represent them in the parliament.

Hubli has always been in competition with Belgaum to get infra projects. And in many cases Hubli is successful in suppressing the development of Belgaum by grabbing major infra projects to its bucket. Some of the regional offices were shifted to Hubli from Belgaum recently. Education Commissioner Office, NWKRTC and IIT became part of Hubli testing the patience of Belgaumites.

Now BJP leadership in Karnataka wants Jagadeesh Shettar to contest the upcoming Loksabha by-elections in Belgaum. This is insulting move to Belgaumites. We being loyal voters to BJP does not mean that an outsider can represent us in Parliament. I would request the BJP national and state leaders to issue BJP ticket to a native ,young and dynamic person who has presence across Belgaum district, considering Belgaum's development for the next 20-30 years.
