BITS Pilani is one of the most prestigious institute for Engineering in India. This great institute along with IITs and NITs have produced some of the finest brains in the country. Many top ranked students make a choice b/w IITs and BITS for their career path. 

This year, however due to COVID-19, there has been a huge timeline gap b/w the counselling process of two institutes. While BITS counselling closes by 21 Aug, exam of JEE Advanced is due on 3rd Oct. JoSSA for NIT will start by 10 Sep or so.

Clearly students would have to take a call for BITS even when they haven't appeared for JEE Advanced and their JoSSA result won't be out. This would be unfair for many students actually. 

Furthermore, the refund policy of BITS gives 45-60 days window to withdraw. (page 11 for 2020 policy)

I agree that BITS is right in conducting the process as it suits the best, however i would request on behalf of thousands of students to consider more relaxation this time owing to the special circumstances.
