Keep the Standard Block Schedule

Keep the Standard Block Schedule
The Issue
The Bishop O'Dowd administration is attempting to add a Dragon Day, meaning we have all class periods in one day, every Monday starting in the fall of 2015. If this was to be enacted, students would have double the homework load on the weekends that would be due on Mondays then ever before. Teachers then also have the potential to schedule multiple tests and quizzes on the same day which would only add to the average Bishop O'Dowd student's already hectic schedule. Furthermore, this would reduce the class periods down to 45 minutes each, making covering the complex material we have traditionally covered in 80 minutes nearly impossible. This switch to a weekly Dragon Day would incite more strain and pressure than our typical block schedule. We implore the administration to reconsider this change in schedule for the benefit of both the students and the teachers times.
