Once again, the UK Government has banned public Mass and other religious services. The Government has not produced any evidence that banning Mass would be effective in combatting a virus.

The Holy Mass is essential. It is essential for all Catholics to worship God, who has a right to our love and service. If we can go to the supermarket, get on a train or go to work, then we can go to Mass.

Furthermore, the state does not have the authority to interfere with the rites of the Church. Christ is our King and we must defend his right to be worshipped and adored. We need every single Bishop to stand up and demand – not request – that the public offering of the Mass start again immediately.

Bishop Davies (Shrewsbury, England) and Bishop Egan (Portsmouth, England) have shown that they are prepared to speak out in defence of unborn babies. We now call on them to speak out in defence of Holy Church.
