The Issue
Edgenuity is hard, frustrating, and not a good program in general. It is as simple as that. Here's why though. People can get really behind on it. With all the steps needed, students are getting more and more behind than ever. Whether you are smart or not, it's a different platform that is hard to keep up with. People are having to go to tutoring a ton. Tutoring isn't bad but edgenuity causes too much needed one on one attention. School is busy and it is really hard for people to find time to do all the things it asks. It also overcomplicates the questions and takes away from what we need to learn. It is a whole process, when you take too much time learning things not in the material then you don't learn the things you should and so don't do very well on the tests and assignments outside edgenuity. Not only that, but I have had teachers who didn't know some of the things they were talking about because they aren't the things you should be learning. When you often go over the material, whether the teacher is teaching it or the instruction the edgenuity made itself, the questions tend to be different or you often don't know what you are doing, and so you end up doing bad. Not only this but if you understand the idea, you can't skip it. Often times the teachers will have to do it as a class because of this. It also has paragraph prompts that are really confusing and people often get those wrong since edgenuity can't read it specifically, but often looks for words and stuff that you might've already mentioned in a different way. If you didn't mention this, you can get it wrong anyway. Edgenuity should end in our BISD schools.
