Big Bass Lake issues
The Issue
To All Big Bass Lake Association Members:
As many of you may be aware, these past few months have been quite tumultuous within the Board of Directors and Administrative Office Personnel.
Currently there is a Human Resource Investigation that is ongoing against the Board of Directors. The allegations are very serious and have been compounded by potential filings with the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). This investigation has already cost the Association $20,000.00 and will likely cost more. This is per the Board Meeting on February 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM as stated by a Board Representative.
There has been a mass exodus of employees from the Administrative Offices due to concerns regarding the management and guidance of the Board of Directors. Currently we have lost our General Manager, Web Admin/Communication Coordinator, Architectural Review Coordinator, various Administrative Assistants, and a third-party CPA Consultant just to name a few.
We now have reduced Administrative Office hours due to the lack of staffing.
Requests have been made for the B.O.D to disclose the outside Attorney’s engagement letter so that the scope of work and costs can be reviewed by Association members; however, to date it has not been disclosed.
To this end many Association Members would like to move forward with the removal of some members of the Board of Directors. This is possible through our Bylaws; however, in order to accomplish this, we must gather enough votes to call a special meeting (see below). Please remember: Members in good standing are entitled to one vote for every Unit owned.
It is the belief of many Association members that it is our obligation to continue to make BBLCA the wonderful place it has been in the past. We must continue to hold our elected officials to the highest of standards and accountability of the rules and regulations.
To this end we are requesting for you to cast your vote in favor of calling for a Special Meeting to address the removal of the Board of Directors. Should the Special Meeting be called, a vote will be taken of all eligible members to determine whether the Board of Directors should be removed.
