For the past two years seniors have gotten the bum end of the stick… missing out on traditions that have run through high school for nearly hundreds of years. And this year is seeming to be no different than the previous two years. Even with covid in our state of Maine on the decline from where it has previously was, the school seems to have no sympathy for students that have been attending their school districts for a large bulk of their lives. They have already stripped us of our senior parade, homecoming, and surely more to come before the end of the school year. This petition is to show schools across the state that they are taking any joy out of school for thousands of students across the state and that the people of the state do not agree. This is not about politics, left or right, Democrat or republican. This is about the mental well being of our students who have been locked down away from any social activity for far too long now. It’s time to make a change.
