Airtel -- stop harassing and looting your users
The Issue
1) I, Sayan Kumar Bhowmick, beg your attention to state that I had an airtel number-9547919647--pre-paid. Last October ,2019. I wanted to convert this to post-paid for one month because I was about to go to Jammu & Kashmir.
2) For this I went to the airtel express (18 Netaji Colony, B T Rd), Tobin road. They only told me that I had to pay 390/- a month. After completing the process, I came to know accidently (another customer was arguing about it) that I need to pay near about 500/-month for at least 4 months.
3) I did not agree so told them to cancel the request. They said the number would be lost. I told them that is ok. So, they told me not to take the post-paid sim. The prepaid sim would deactivate automatically so as the number. So, I left the sim at the store and the executive took it. After 7 days my prepaid number had been deactivated.
4) I knew that the number has been permanently deactivated until the collection executive called me (06/07/2020) and told me the number is working till now and the bill amount is near to 6000 which I have to pay. He also said that there is another number which is registered to my name. I have to pay that bill too though I have no idea about that number (9831755119).
5) I did not use any of these numbers (any airtel number) for at least 8 months. I have no clue about the post-paid sim and the other number. I did not receive any invoice via mail or text messages throughout these months. I contacted the store after that they said just to ignore. So, I complained again and again to the airtel nodal officer for resolution (nearly 10 e-mails) and all the details (call, using device etc). They did not send me anything. Always said that their team is working on this matter. But it has been nearly 40-45 days, no solution from their side.
6) A guy from airtel ( proloy pal-8582966008 ) came on Monday (10/08/2020) morning. He showed me something which is very very serious and dangerous. This number (9831755119) is registered with my documents and linked with 9547919647. I told earlier; I didn't even see/know this number before the executive called me.
7) I told the guy everything. After that he said if I give him 50% of the bill he will permanently deactivate these two numbers otherwise I will get a court notice by next week and I cannot do anything more as the disaster ,already done by the airtel store . After bargaining, he agrees at Rs 2700/-. Though he gave me a challan of Rs 2000.
8) So, I again complained to the airtel. Tuesday (11/08/2020) I got a call from the airtel social team (8800001375- Ankur k.). He told me that besides this number (9831755119) there are 3 or 4 airtel numbers registered with my documents and linked with 9547919647. So, I told him to give me all the details of those numbers. He said that their team will work on this matter not to worry.
9) After that a guy from your social team called (7428943194) . He listened to everything and took all the documents.
10) On 13/08/20 I got a call from Airtel Store Manager , Park st and Store manager, tobin road. They asked to visit the tobin road store ( 18, netaji colony, BT road) to sort out the matter . When they checked their system , they found that 9831755119 is not my number.I already told them to let you know all this so that you can arrange my cashback. That's why the Airtel Express executive already mailed you in front of me .
11) Now I am also telling you that your payment guy (proloy pal-8582966008) took money from me for a number that is not mine by showing a document issued by airtel and gave a receipt also issued by airtel . I request you to pay back my money and take it from the original customer .
12)They did not search for any number which might be registered in my name . They asked me what number I got . They tried to convince me that they can not track the lady executive and she had been sacked so there is no way to know what she did. I also called the payment guys who took money from me in front of them . They talked to him also and asked the payment guy ( proloy pal -8582966008) to visit their store . Now when I gave the number (9831755119) (paid against it) they searched it in their system and said that the number is in the name of Mr. Subhom Roy. So why did I pay ?. I showed him the receipt of my name and asked them to lodge a complaint to the higher authority / let the higher authority know about it . So that Airtel can refund and take it from the original customer . Firstly they did not want to do it . After some hot chats they mailed to 121@in.airtel.com . Mr. Proloy Pal came on (17/08/20) morning at my home . He gave back the Rs 500 what he took for himself. Now airtel is telling that they linked 9547919647 with 9831755119 and they credited the money for 9547919647. I asked them to give me all the call details because I did not use it . They refused . Also they linked some anonymous mail id with it on that mail they can send the bill only . I said that is not my mail id . They said that they can not help me in this case.
14)They linked an another number with my account , They linked another email with my number .... They took money for another number by saying that mine, They don't want to co-operate ( I was just asking the bill with the call details.. They could show me physically at any of their regional offices in kolkata ) , They did not interrogate the lady executive who have done this ( It is their store , they should have the record who was dealing with me ,when and of course the cctv footage) ....they did not do anything.... And they're saying just a sorry . Wahh .. Tomorrow someone will commit a crime by the number registered in my name providing by them . Then they will again say ''sorry". Airtel just know how to loot people's money without giving any proper resolution.
