One of our Florida public officials, Kristin Jacobs, will be meeting with the Florida Legislature again in the upcoming year.  She is trying to pass a bill dubbed the 'Sunshine Protection Act' which will keep Daylight Saving Time as our standard measure of time.  There are many benefits to this bill being passed.  The most important benefit is the impact of that extra hour of daylight towards our tourist based economy here in Florida!  Every extra second of SUNSHINE counts!!  

Many different people have many different reasons for liking DST better than Standard Time.   I like to take a nice long walk after work.  Where I live, there are no street lights, no sidewalks and many safety concerns once it's dark.  So when November gets here my walks get cut out of my schedule until March rolls around and the time changes so that the sun is still up when I'm through working.   That's a big health benefit to me personally.
