Best Buy in Nevada is ripping off Nevada Residents on New or upgrade Cell phones!

The Issue

Consumers are getting ripped off during rough economic times. Best Buy Nevada is charging 6% so called "Federal Mandated Tax" on all new mobile phone purchases in addition to 8% sales tax. My daughter went in to upgrade her phone which was on sale for $49.99, she had a $50.00 gift card to go towards the phone, so all she would've paid was the 8% sales tax on the $49.99. Her bill at the end of everything came out to be over $40+, when she asked the manager why it was so high, he told her that it's Nevada Law to charge that 6% Federal Mandated Tax on all mobile purchases and not on the sales price but on the retail price ($700). I called Sprint (our carrier) in Nevada and asked if there was such law and if they charge an addtional 6% on all mobile purchases and they said they DO NOT!! I googled this law and couldn't find anything about it except for other complaints. What I read is that Best Buy Corporate already know of this problem and suppose to have fixed it, but they are still doing it.  We are having a hard time as it is so we figure we can afford paying $4 (tax amount on $49.99) on a new cell phone but we was wrong!!
