As we all know our University has decided to restart mandatory offline classes for all students commencing from January 2022. Though this definitely is a bold step towards normalization to our old lifestyles before the pandemic, we feel it is still too soon for the college to take the next step. According to the recent news:

a. There has been a tremendous spike in the number of cases.
b. Experts have predicted that the third wave will hit around mid February.
c. Although a mild variant, omicron is still dangerous and needs to be given proper attention.
d. WHO recently stated:  "It is more likely people vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 could be infected or re-infected with the Omicron virus".

Therefore, we request you to kindly understand the situation the University will be putting students as well as faculty through, and sign this petition if you feel you sympathize with our cause.
