The continuing state-sponsored fascism under the Aquino regime is a clear manifestation of an undeclared martial law in the Philippines. Benjamen Villeno, trade union leader and organizer in the Southern Tagalog region, was abducted by suspected military forces due to his commitment in organizing unions and exposing the current administration's blatant violation of workers' rights, as well as involvement in the exposition and condemnation of systemic government corruption in the Philippines.

This new case of enforced disappearance sends a clear warning to all human rights activists and critics of the Philippine government regarding the state's endless efforts in suppressing any form of struggle for democracy in the country.

By signing this petition, you are taking part in urging the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Aquino administration to surface Benjamen Villeno and ultimately put an end to the systematic human rights violations in the country.

Letter to
President of the Philippines Benigno Simeon Aquino III
Surface Benjamen Villeno! Ben is a trade union leader and activist, not a criminal! Through the years, Ben has represented genuine, militant, and anti-imperialist unions in the Southern Tagalog region of the country. He is a former national president of the Organized Labor Association in Line Industries and Agriculture (OLALIA), and chairperson of the Solidarity of Workers in Southern Tagalog (PAMANTIK-KMU). In 1998, he was union president of the Lakas Manggagawang Nagkakaisa sa Honda (workers' union in Honda Cars Phils.). Ben was also regional coordinator of the progressive partylist Bayan Muna during the 2010 national elections.
