Hi my name is Toby Gujer, a local skateboarder who is living in a town in the middle of Victoria, known as Bendigo.

Over the past few months with the help of other skateboarders I have been building and making improvements to a shed which we call the Neighbourhood that has been abandoned for over 15 years. Some of the adjustments we have made include; fixing a roof to prevent water coming in, covering holes to prevent vandalism and building items to use for skateboarding. We have built two halfpipes that have been funded by myself and others that would like to utilise the space for skateboarding during the winter months. 

Recently we received notice that we must remove the items that have been built before the 8th of August as the use of this site has not been authorised by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

Our goal from the start was to create a place in which skateboarders and other young adults can enjoy during the winter months that also encourages people to unite and enjoy skateboarding in a location that does not disturb the community. 

Although it's a long shot i hope that you signing this petition will encourage the council to reconsider as it would be a shame to watch the Neighbourhood turn back into an abandoned shed. 

I believe people care about the work that has been done here and that using this abandoned space could encourage a positive skateboarding community.
