☩Believed. Blessed. Becoming. — June 18 | Clergy Abuse Victims Day ☩

The Issue

✝️ PROCLAIM JUNE 18 AS CLERGY ABUSE VICTIMS DAY
“I will not be silent about the things that hurt me.” — Job 7 : 11

Every day, survivors of clergy abuse carry the weight of betrayal. Too often their courage is met with silence or red tape. On 18 June 2025, Pope Leo XIV declared “zero tolerance for any form of abuse.” That promise must become policy, protection, and reform.

WHY JUNE 18 MATTERS
• First global “zero-tolerance” pledge from a major faith leader
• Historic visibility for survivors in one of the world’s largest spiritual forums
• An annual date keeps governments, churches, and communities accountable—not complacent

WHAT A CLERGY ABUSE VICTIMS DAY WILL DELIVER
🕯️  Honor the Truth – national ceremonies, lowered flags, survivor-led services
📚  Educate to Prevent – free safeguarding trainings and trauma-informed resources
⚖️  Advance Reform – independent oversight and real consequences for institutions that fail
🛡️  Mobilize Public Systems – federal investigations and uniform clearance checks for all clergy
🗣️  Create Safe Pathways – anonymous reporting portals and strong whistle-blower protections
💛  Support Survivors – long-term, faith-sensitive counseling and peer networks
