Let`s get our elementary kids back to a decent school starting time! Kids 1st!!!!

The Issue

This year our elementary grade school students were put into a position that looking back thus far, has been a "no go"!  I`ve heard there was this BIG research test done that said it`s proven that earlier is better for our lil buckaroos.  As a single Father who shares joint custody of my 2nd grader, 8 year old awesome son I speak from experience!   That is incorrect. I also have heard from MANY parents who also feel their child's pain as well as an inconvenience to their households lifestyle.  I would like to see the school hours for my 2nd grader go back to the way it was last year and here is just my reason why...  When a young child who is so full of natural energy and curiosity is drained at the end of each day beyond the point of being "HANGRY" (Hungry, tired and angry all at the same time) it get`s frustrating for all. Here`s our scenario... Getting up around 6 am eating in time to catch the bus or ride to school is already a race. Get up, make bed, get dressed, eat, clean up, brush teeth, grab lunch & back pack 1, 2 3 go!  Be at school ready to be in your seat for the 7:45 alarm. (7th graders you get to sleep in because you start later.)  Study, play hard, eat lunch, study play hard and homework!  Ok School is out at 2:45!  Wait a minute.... PAUSE!!!!  2:45???  Isn`t the average American still working a 9 to 5 job?  or 8 to 5?  Where is that child to go?  Most parents that have older kids cannot get the older one out of school to watch the young one, they get out later now.  After school programs was the solution we were given. Well there ya go.. More $$ out of our pockets.  We "parents" still have 2 or 3 hours of work left. So our child finally found a place to be for a couple hours until the average parent gets out of work to get him or her.  Cub scouts, ATA, soccer, baseball, football, ballet etc etc these are all things our kids want to do and we are so excited to see them do as well. Now they head home and grab some chick filet (school sponsored) on the way.  Hit the bath, brush teeth and head on the pillow it`s 8:30/9pm.  Don`t forget to read and say prayers.  Oh, they fell asleep already.....  I don`t know about you but if I had their schedule everyday I hope I`m getting paid, because that is like a full time job.  They are too young for all that pressure.  I feel they are so crushed for time this year and it`s put a strain on all involved.  I have spoken with and heard from alot of parents who feel the same.  If you are with me in giving our young spirits a more relaxed/fitting schedule and go back to last years schedule please sign this petition and let our child's voices be heard!  Sorry for the grammar I`m exhausted, it`s Friday night & I`m Hangry!  Seriously though, we need to speak up for our lil mini me`s!  Thanks Chris
