Beat the Heat: Help the students against the increasing Heat Index in Calapan City
The Issue
Students of Oriental Mindoro National High School are concerned about the increasing heat index in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The rise of temperature renders things hard for learners especially those classrooms with lower ventilation and big classroom size. Therefore, students in OMNHS gathered and think it's important to amend things now before it gets out of hand.
The heat poses significant challenges for students in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. It can induce illness and hinder their ability to concentrate on their studies. Excessive heat may lead to symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, and even fainting, impacting both their health and academic performance.
To address the rising temperatures, several solutions are proposed. Firstly, reducing class sizes can alleviate the heat by decreasing the number of students in each room. Secondly, enhancing ventilation by installing more fans or opening windows can improve air circulation, thus cooling down the classrooms. Thirdly, the use of air conditioners in classrooms can effectively lower temperatures, particularly during scorching weather conditions. Additionally, constructing covered pathways between buildings can shield students from the sun's intense heat as they move between classes. Lastly, ensuring an ample supply of cold water for students to drink is crucial for keeping them hydrated and preventing heat-related illnesses.
Implementing these measures will enhance the learning environment and promote student well-being, even in hot weather. Your cooperation in facilitating these changes is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
