As students and parents of Knox County we would like to update the dress code to new standards! Students, especially girls, are being coded everyday for clothes that are “drawing attention to an individual rather than to a learning situation” this apparel includes open shoulder shirts and above mid thigh shorts. As a girl I know it is hard for me to find shorts that are in dress code and I feel confident in! It’s not that we don’t want to be covered but we would like some freedom to wear what is comfortable to us! We are not trying to distract the class, which we won’t by doing otherwise, but are trying to express ourselves by wearing our clothes! Thank you for reading and please sign!
