The Beacon Hospital used excess Covid vaccines to vaccinate teachers from the school that the CEO, Michael Cullen, children attend. These vaccines should have be given to more vulnerable people.

This move has been condemed by the Health Minister, Stephen Donnelly, and HSE CEO Paul Reid. 

At a time when there is a shortage of Covid-19 vaccines, and the most vulnerable within our society are at risk of dying from from the disease, these vaccines should have been given to more at-risk people.

There is a strict procedure to be followed if there are excess vaccines. This dictates vaccinating people from high risk categories.

This appears to be a clear example of nepotism perpetrated by Michael Cullen. The fact that teachers from the school attended by the CEOs children were notified and vaccinated is an insult to the people that have already succumbed to Covid.

Michael Cullen should resign.
