REASON FOR THIS PETITION
Beach Huts located at Sutton on Sea, Mablethorpe and Sandilands are being subjected to a huge amount of vandalism including arsen. It's claimed that vandalism along the promenade has become worse as a consequence of the local authorities including the Police failing to take appropriate action against vandals allowing them to do what they want along the promenade without fear of prosecution. This vandalism is seen by visitors who may decide not to return in the future it also deters potential new beach hut owners from purchasing a beach hut or new residents moving into the area. This has a knock on effect on the local economies?
It appears that beach hut owners and residents are resigned to accept vandalism along the promenade due to the alleged lack of support from East Lindsey District Council (ELDC), the Parish Council and the police going back many years. The aim of this petition is to spark the fight against vandalism back into life and to present it to the appropriate people at East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) and Lincolnshire Police with enough signatures to show the strength of feeling that the failure to action vandalism is generating. This is the first step and will hopefully open the way for dialogue with ELDC. Hopefully a united approach will be more successful in achieving a positive outcome for example adequate monitored CCTV along the prom to catch vandals in the act, adequate punishment for vandals or where appropriate their parents and community service for vandals to rectify their vandalism, It's time for the punishment for vandalism to fit the crime.
Should beach hut owners, local residents and visitors be subject to the poor behaviour of the minority of local children and youths who are allowed to persist with such behaviour with no action being taken to deter them.
Please share it to reach more people who care about the prom and beach huts. To give this petition more value would those of you signing please leave a comment showing why you've signed...
