So what is the QLD Regulator (QBCC) & their stakeholders like MBA & HIA have say to combat this?  Clearly not their due diligence & protecting the homeowners, licensee’s or the public purse!!💰 I encourage all homeowners, builders, sub-contractors etc to listen to the video below.

Most importantly the QBCC need to listen & then re-listen to this.  The QBCC are expecting homeowners to have done their due diligence but what happens when you haven’t done yours as the regulator….🤔.

That’s easy; 

• you blame the homeowner!

• the homeowner has to pay for invasive inspections because you won’t do inspections when complaints have been raised, or your licensee’s won’t engage to rectify;

• you tell the homeowner they accepted an undervalued quote/contract. Yet how do they know it’s under valued;

• you fail to check on your licensee’s contract, insurance & conduct;

• you fail to complete the appropriate audit’s that see insolvency trading as the normal.  

• you fail to work in real time & then blame the homeowner for not identifying the licensee earlier;

• you ensure you do everything possible to deny the Home Warranty Insurance due to your fallings of due diligence;

• you pass the buck to QCAT to draw out the process & clog the judicial system;

• you ensure that all matters are exhaustingly long & place the burden of proving the wrong doing to the very person who doesn’t have the building licence - the homeowner; &

• the interesting fact that you make decisions based on interpretation or discretionary powers which are not mandated in the legislation & are not compliant with procedural fairness; are just some of the failings that need to be addressed by the QBCC.

It’s clear the system is DEFECTIVE, just like some of the homes that are left behind for the victims of your dodgy licensee’s.

There needs to be complete QBCC Reform!  Let’s start with the conscious bias decision making by the QBCC that negates legitimate homeowners accessing the insurance they pay for!

It doesn’t help that myself & so may other homeowners across Queensland can’t rely on the Housing Minister Sam O'Connor MP or the Premier David Crisafulli MP to even answer an email in over the past 12+ months.
