Tilson & Sons Building & Construction cyclonic conduct against numerous homeowners provides scope to the condition of the building industry; with numerous Home Warranty Insurance (HWI) claims being lodged, approved and costing up to double the original contracted price due to failures in the legislation, regulatory interpretations, lengthy delays & shortage of staff.  Tilson & Sons Building & Construction has had their QBCC licence disqualified & suspended, including the Director, Declan Tilson & Nominee/Secretary, Santo Cutuli.

     Our builder Tilson & Sons Building & Construction has been held accountable by the QBCC with our HWI claim now being approved.  This approval means we can progress in identifying the scope of works required to rectify the defective works & complete the build. This won't be a quick process but after 18 months of being stagnate with the build & other renovations; 2026 now brings the progress & change we signed up for in 2023.

     There needs to be change to the QBCC legislation, processes and practices to reduce the extensive time, money and health concerns that burden homeowners to have their rights enforced and protected.  There are still Tilson & Sons homeowners that have to navigate other government bodies QCAT, Magistrates Court, Resilience Home Fund & Queensland Police etc to seek justice for their homes, lives and accountability to the builder.

     Signing the ‘Be the Change – QBCC Reform’ sends a clear message that as homeowners and Queenslanders we won’t stand bye & watch our rights, our homes & our lives be buried in the rumble of the building industries demolition.
