Queenslanders are waiting for Minister O’Connor to do something about the housing & building industry & make good on David Crisafulli MP claims from 2021 when he stated:
"The only common theme amongst all of it is a minister who is losing control of his department and a building regulator that has stopped regulating and stopped caring," Mr Crisafulli said.
Now that the premier has his Minister in the hot seat; he has delivered nothing, provided worst outcomes & doesn’t care about Queenslanders & Homeowners.
The regulator’s job - QBCC - is to regulate the industry impartially without fear or favour from or for either side of the divide. The reality is very different and the Minister’s Expectations Letter is about the worst possible statement that homeowner who has a dispute with a builder could possibly hear as they feel the regulator who has moved ‘beyond compliance for compliance’s sake’ will be unable or will NOT address any concerns they may have with their builder.
Now who has a “minister who is losing control of his department and a building regulator that has stopped regulating and stopped caring”….🤔
So, what do you have to say now Mr Crisafulli stating that QLD needs more immigrants to address the 44000 trades shortage. Where are they are going to live? The only construction happening in QLD at the moment are projects already in place from ALP . LNP have stopped all projects that weren’t commenced like affordable housing; hospital upgrades and no new projects except a stadium we don’t want.
The Crisafulli Government have made a real mess of the housing & building industry & they are wanting to make it worse by cutting more red tape & letting builders go rogue. The end result is the average homeowner becomes collateral damage & pays the price for the government bureaucracy & lack of red tape.
