I'm not just tired, trauma tired. Bone deep & soul heavy. The kind of exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. My body carries complex trauma, depression, anxiety that ignite the years of fight or flight and running on empty. Most days, I'm so drained that doing anything feels like a challenge & a battle. It's not that I am lazy, but feel that it’s about survival. My body was never meant to endure this much or endure it for so long.  Each day I continually try to make it through with the weight of unprocessed & relived trauma like a constant hum in the background, draining my energy and making every task feel like a monumental challenge.

Often I am misunderstood, as is my trauma; assuming that once the traumatic event has passed, life should or would return to normal. The reality is that trauma rewires the body and brain, making everyday experiences feel like battles to survive. The hypervigilance, the anxiety, the self-doubt – it's all part of the aftermath. And it's exhausting. The fight-or-flight response, once a lifesaver, has become a constant companion, making it hard to relax, hard to trust, and hard to feel safe.

So how do homeowners recover from this? How do we return our houses to our homes; to a place of solitude and where we feel it is safe place again. The broken system evaporates our good memories to horrific nightmares that it seems we will never awaken from.  With weeks turning into months, months turning into years, lost moments & milestones with family/friends; as the constant anxiety, disappointment, depression & memories of a life once filled with love & light are erased with the darken depths of despair.

When you have weathered so much of the storm and the calmness hits; you think the sun is about to shine but reality hits like a lightening bolt and you realise you are in the eye of the storm. Where to from here..........
