This petition has provided an invite to the QBCC to discuss issues to HELP ALL homeowners, trades, sub-contractors & small businesses. Unfortunately attendance is not possible due to prior commitments; but a capable & extremely knowledgeable proxy has been nominated to represent EVERYONE.
We await notification from the QBCC to the acceptance of the proxy nominee.......
With media exposure, petition circulation & social media connections consumers have been brought together to highlight the QBCC failings over the years. There has recently been a huge connection between homeowners, trades, sub-contractors & small businesses that feedback balanced against the QBCC Key Objectives has identified:
- FAIL - to support a strong, safe & sustainable industry;
- FAIL - to be responsive & provide regulatory compliance activity to reduce risk & harm;
- FAIL - to provide consumer's with the right information & knowledge to navigate their individual experience;
- FAIL - to be transparent with outcomes inline with advise that impact consumers decisions that are practical & timely;
- FAIL - to educate & inform consumers & offer better support with continuously monitored reporting structure to improve consumer faith in industry standards;
- FAIL - to be an organisation that supports, values & empowers employees to serve all of Queensland & not just a select few.
How is the new QBCC going to turn around the QBCC 2023-2027 Plan & resuscitate a failing system, consumer outrage & a building industry where it:
- fails to action consumer complaints timely & within a fair natural justice process;
- disadvantages trades, small businesses & sub-contractors who do the right thing within the industry standards of QBCC licences, training & accreditation;
- disadvantages consumers with inaccurate statistical recording against non-compliant building regulatory standards;
- refuses to apply penalties on repeated offences;
- applies QBCC policies inconsistent with legislation;
- makes the reporting system too difficult;
- is impossible to navigate a system designed for the average person;
- provides discretion used to advantage builders & isolate the consumer;
- inaccurately relays information that provides financial, mental and emotional detriment to consumers, trades, small businesses & sub-contractors;
- misaligns between legislation and industry advancements;
- miscommunication due to inadequate training, inaccurate information, non-transparent & lack of provision for natural justice for all persons;
- struggles to maintain workforce stability & workplace culture to improve recruitment, retention & building workforce resilience;
- provides inconsistent advise on complaint & resolution processes; and
- inadequately delivers on digital reporting verse consumer satisfaction.
Keep getting the word out & share this petition to provide the QBCC with a loud voice to CHANGE.
