BCPS needs to improve the autism awareness in their schools. There is not enough information being shared or taught related to the reality of autism. A lot of people believe more in the stereotypes/stigma of autism instead of the actual truth. BCPS should implement more programs to help faculty and students learn more about ASD and how it works. This would benefit all of the autistic community and families that have their children go to schools in BCPS. The more each school's community can learn about their autistic peers and why they are how they are, the more the autistic students will receive the help and accommodations they need to be successful.
