St Luke's Junior School site has been without a Lollipop man/woman since December 2019. The previous crossing attendant used to help children cross the busy junction that incorporates both Bemister and Luther Road and, given that children as young as nine are permitted to walk to and from school alone, it is essential that this position is filled. We now ask BCP council to treat this matter with the urgency it deserves. We believe that all children should be safe walking to and from school and that this matter needs immediate attention, particularly given the fact that we are approaching the darker, winter months when the visibility of our children on the roads will be reduced.
