To improve health and help fund public transit

Since 2009 I have been communicating with TransLink (& others) about the establishment of a TransLink Wellness-Hub, an agency that would help fund Public Transit by rewarding transit users for maintaining and improving their health. Studies have shown that for every dollar spent on wellness, many dollars can be saved in the form of improved health and reduced healthcare costs. As the saying goes, an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Running twice for a seat on Vancouver City Council and talking to an endless number politicians and "ministers" most of whom have been supportive, has not been enough - something more needs to be done.

TransLink has informed me that they are not opposed to this proposal, but that the issue is "political" - so you know who we need to talk to - See campaign website at - http://bcwellnesshub.ca/
