Miscarriage trigger warning for film and TV

Miscarriage trigger warning for film and TV
The Issue
1 in 4 women suffer from a miscarriage with 1 in 6 of those women reportedly experiencing long term symptoms of post traumatic stress as well as 24% having symptoms of anxiety and 11% of depression. Now it goes without saying this is a considerable number of people, not counting the partners and families it also affects.
The TV and film industry has come a long way in protecting its viewers with careful research going into the recommended guidance certificates and also trigger warnings such as ‘sex scenes, drug use, swearing, suicide, violence’ and more...however one trigger warning that is not on films or tv programmes is ‘miscarriage’.
When going through a miscarriage it is and incredibly sensitive time and a lot of people look for distractions such as watching tv. Imagine watching tv to escape the heartbreak you are currently living through, searching through to look for something you are sure will not include a miscarriage to be shocked and all again heartbroken when it happens on the screen in front of you, for someone suffering a traumatic event, this trigger is not only devastating but also potentially dangerous to their mental state.
I plead that the BBFC will put serious consideration into including ‘miscarriage’ as a trigger warning at the beginning on films/TV programmes or in the description. In this modern day what good reason is there to not protect people’s mental health.
