Use a Melodi Grand Prix style event to select the UK Eurovision Entry 2022.

The Issue

The United Kingdom has now come dead last in Eurovision two years running. It is time for the BBC to change it's direction. In 2019 we saw that their half-hearted attempt at a nation final, "Eurovision: You Decide", doesn't work and now it has been proven that internally selecting artists is the wrong choice also.

It is time to take the contest more seriously and host a full scale national final event similar to ones seen in Sweden's "Melodifestivalen", or Norway's "Melodi Grand Prix" that will allow artists big and small from all over the UK to submit their own songs for consideration.

While this will give the public the best chance to select their entrant it will also give smaller undiscovered artists as well as bigger well-known artists to showcase themselves on a big stage in front of an audience - which will in turn help the public decide if the act is good enough to represent us at the contest.

If we start following the lead of the countries that do the best in the contest instead of just sticking to our same old plan and just hoping it will produce a different result then maybe finally we can change the United Kingdom's fortunes and start climbing the scoreboard again.
