Zara Moores started this petition to BBC and

Prospero and Ariel sculpture that stands outside the BBC must be removed.

Eric Gill was one of the most respected artists of the 20th century when he died in 1940. However his diaries, published in 1989, revealed that he regularly abused his daughters Betty and Petra, as well as the family dog.

His personal diaries reveal that his religious beliefs did not limit his sexual activity which included several extramarital affairs, incest with his two eldest teenage daughters, incestuous relationships with his sisters, and sexual acts on his dog. This aspect of Gill's life was little known beyond his family and friends until the publication of the 1989 biography by Fiona MacCarthy. An earlier biography by Robert Speaight, published in 1966, mentioned none of it. Gill's daughter Petra, who was alive at the time of the MacCarthy biography, described her father as having "endless curiosity about sex" and that "we just took it for granted".

MacCarthy received some criticism for revealing Gill's incest in his daughter's lifetime. It is high time we STOP protecting pedophiles.

The statue being at the Entrance of the BBC is not acceptable, especially in light of the recent child abuse investigations that have happened, ie, Jimmy Saville.
