The Issue
The unions representing BART employees, the Service Employees International Union Local 1021 and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1555, have held SF Bay Area commuters hostage. These unions overplayed their hand and have turned the public against them.
When they went on strike, these unions declared war on the riders and everybody else who commutes. BART Board of Directors: DO NOT cave in to their outrageous salary and benefits demands and make future strikes illegal for public transit unions. No more strikes or strike threats!
