To appeal the sentence for Brock Allen Turner for a fitting one

The Issue

Today I read a very disturbing article about how ex stanford student Brock Allen Turner, was found guilty of 3 counts of sexual assault. He was caught sexually assaulting this womens unconscious body behind a dumpster by two men on bikes in the dark, who could see the young women was unconscious. Upon reading the article you will find that the defendant states he didn't realize she was unconscious, but two men on bikes did, and tackled him to stop him. Brock Allen Turner was only sentenced to 6 months in jail, because the judge was concerned about the "impact" a longer sentence would have on the defendant. I am sick to know that because of his social status, and because he was drunk. The judge seemingly excused his behavior. Young women have a right to give consent, no matter the situation, no MEANS no. By giving the defendant 6 months, not only did this judge insult the young women who will forever have this sexual assault burned into her memory. The culture we have surrounding us today seems to be one of victim blaming, and one where women are not "allowed to say no". Women ARE allowed to do with their body as they see fit, if they give consent. Sexual acts should ALWAYS be consensual, and it is unsettling to know that this young man was not only unremorseful, but the judge felt more for him than the actual victim in this case. By giving him this appalling sentence, it is sending the message not only to Brock Allen Turner that sexual assault is okay, but to other future offenders that they will not be punished accordingly for their crimes. As well as victims of sexual assault who feel they already have no voice, that their own personal sexual conduct will be put into question, as well as their personal lives dissected. Wanting to have a good time out, with the expectations that if you have a bit too much to drink, you will NOT be raped is not a high expectation. The fact that we're living in a world that women need to "act accordingly" rather than holding these perpetrators accountable for their actions is very wrong. Please sign and get this young women the justice she deserves.
